Vitamin E is found in food, but it can also be found as a food supplement in pharmacies and health food stores although it is always recommended to take it in natural form.

Lack of Vitamin E

The lack of vitamin E in the body is mainly related to neurological problems like loss of reflexes, problems of balance, lack of coordination and difficulties in walking. However, the lack of vitamin E is rare and when it happens it is usually associated with intestinal malabsorption problems.

Vitamin E also plays an important role in the formation of hormones and so it is important in fertility so the lack of vitamin E may be related to infertility, difficulty in getting pregnant or even with abortion cases.

The lack of vitamin E can be treated with the consumption of foods rich in vitamin E like sunflower oil, almonds, hazelnuts or Brazil nuts but you can also use vitamin E based dietary supplements that should be advised by your doctor or nutritionist.
Newborn babies have low concentrations of vitamin E because there is little passage through the placenta but breast milk is sufficient to meet these needs.
