Flatulence is basically a mixture of intestinal gases caused by food; the air swallowed during eating and the yeasts or bacteria that are produced by fermentation in the colon.
Why Flatulence occur?
The gases are somewhat uncomfortable and shameful. While they are not a disease in themselves, they may indicate a health problem.
The main causes of this problem are:
Lactose intolerance or allergies to some foods.
The consumption of foods that can generate gases (cabbages, soft drinks or beer).
Overeating (that which is not digested completely becomes gas).
On the other hand, other factors can worsen flatulence, chronic constipation, rapid chewing of food and consumption of laxatives or cholesterol reducers, as well as consuming too many flours, sugars, and fats.
In a healthy person, flatulence is expelled imperceptibly and smoothly. Flatulence problems occur when there is an excess of gas in the intestine and it does not completely evacuate.
