A great home remedy for eye allergy is to apply cold water compresses that can help to immediately relieve irritation, or resort to plants like Chamomile to make tea that can be applied to the eyes with the help of compresses.

In addition, people with allergies to the eyes should avoid scratching or rubbing their eyes and going outside when pollen levels in the air are high, especially in the middle of the morning and at dusk, or if they leave home, they should wear protective glasses to the maximum the eyes of the contact of the pollen.

To limit exposure to allergens, you can also use anti-allergic pillowcases, change sheets frequently and avoid having carpets at home to avoid accumulating pollen and other substances that may cause allergy.

1. Chamomile Compresseschamomile tea

Chamomile is a medicinal plant with soothing, healing and anti-inflammatory properties, so applying compresses with this plant helps relieve allergy symptoms in the eyes.

Ingredients

  • 15 g of chamomile flowers;
  • 250 mL of boiling water.

Method of preparation

Pour the boiling water into the chamomile flowers and let it stand for about 10 minutes. Let cool and then soak compresses in this tea and apply to the eyes about 3 times a day.

2. Euphoria Compresseseye-care-tips

Euphoria prepared infusions are beneficial for irritated eyes because they reduce redness, swelling, tearing and burning of the eye.

Ingredients

  • 5 teaspoon of aerial parts of Euphrasia;
  • 250 mL of boiling water.

Method of preparation

Pour the boiling water over the Euphrasia and let it stand for about 10 minutes and let it cool slightly. Soak a compress on the infusion, drain and apply on the irritated eyes.

3. Ocular solution of herbsmedicinal-herbs

A solution with several plants such as Marigold that is soothing and curative, Elderberry with anti-inflammatory properties and Euphrasia, which is astringent and relieves eye irritation, may also be used.

Ingredients

  • 250 ml of boiling water;
  • 1 teaspoon dried marigold;
  • 1 teaspoon dried Elderberry flower;
  • 1 teaspoon dried Eufrásia.

Method of preparation

Pour the boiling water over the herbs and then cover and leave infused for about 15 minutes. Strain through a coffee filter to remove all particles and use as ocular solution or soak cotton or compresses in the tea and apply to the eyes at least three times a day for 10 minutes.
