12 Ayurvedic Herbs For The Hair Growth

Bhringraj is known as “king of herbs.” True to its name, it not only assists the growth of hair growth but also prevents baldness. It can be used to prevent premature bloating as well. The herb is usually available in powder form and in the form of butter. It has a calming effect when used to the scalp and helps those suffering from insomnia sleep better.

Ingredient 
Shepherd Bhringraj Leaves OR 5-6 tablespoons of dried Bhringraj Powder

Processing time: 20 minutes

Method of Preparation
Pass the leaves with a little water to get a consistent paste. If you can not find Bhringraj leaves, mix 5 – 6 tablespoons of dried bhringraj powder with a little water to get a thick paste consistent.

Method of Application

  • Apply the paste to the scalp and hair and leave for 20 minutes.
  • Wash with shampoo.
  • Apply Three times a week.

You can use this in mixture with other ingredients such as Ayurvedic Amla and Tulsi. You can also massage your scalp with bhringraj oil three times a week to stimulate hair growth.

2. Amla-The Indian Gooseberryamla juice

Amla is used not only as an Ayurvedic solution for hair loss, but also a useful treatment for blood purification and treatment of stomach upset. This preparation ingredient improves the health of the scalp, such as the fight against dandruff and scalp worsening. When used in mixture with shikakai, it acts as a natural dye that gives a natural brown color.

Ingredient 
5-6 tablespoons Amla Powder
5-6 tablespoons of water

Processing time
30 minutes

Method Of Preparation & Application

  • In the bowl, combine the ingredients to get a thick, smooth paste.
  • Spread your hair and start applying this scalp and hair paste.
  • Leave it for 30 minutes and then wash with shampoo.
  • Three times a week.

You can add shikakai powder to this mixture by soaking Amla and shikakai powder in hot water overnight. Alternatively, you can extract Amla juice from the fruit and use the liquid for the scalp and hair treatment.

3. Neemneem

For years, neem has been used to treat skin diseases and hair loss. Regular use of nymph on the scalp improves blood circulation and strengthens the roots, which in turn stimulates hair growth. Neem is also applied to treat dandruff and lice. When the head is affected by dry scaliness, dandruff, eczema, psoriasis and excessive sebum-hair roots get damaged. This leads to hair loss. Neem helps combat these conditions, soothes the scalp and promotes healthy hair growth.

Ingredients

  • Heap Neem Leaves
  • 2 glasses of water

Processing time: 5 minutes

Method Of Preparation & Application

  • Boil the Neem leaves for 15 minutes in water and then cool it.
  • Once the solution has cooled, collect a strain of liquid.
  • Gathering num infuses water into a jug
  • Wash and the condition your hair
  • Do not rinse your hair further.
  • Apply Three times a week.

In addition, you can make a paste of dried hazelnut powder and water, and leave it in your hair for 30 minutes before washing with shampoo.

4. Ritha (soap nuts)

Ritha or soapnuts have been used by women for centuries as a natural shampoo. When used regularly, ritha stimulates hair growth, improves structure and volume. Because of its lightness, the natural ingredient can be used to clean your hair every day without removing natural oils from the scalp.

Ingredients

  • A handful of Nuts soap
  • 2 glasses of water

Processing time: 10 minutes

Method Of Preparation & Application

  • Soak one-night soap nuts in 2 cups of warm water.
  • In the morning, boil in the soap nuts in the same water for about 15 minutes and then remove it to cool.
  • Take the cooled solution and collect the liquid in the jug.
  • Rinse your hair with water and then pour half the solution of nut soap through your hair.
  • Massage your hair for around 5 minutes and then rinse with normal water.
  • Repeat with the remaining soap shampoo nut. The solution will start to form a mild foam at this point.

5. Shikakai

Shikakai means “the fruit of the hair.” When combined with water, the fruit forms a light foam and can be effectively used to cleanse hair. The rich antioxidant content of Shikakai makes it ideal for restoring the health of the scalp and treating the hair loss. Shikakai will not strip her hair of her natural oils. It detangles hair, reduces dandruff and hair condition to make it luscious and manageable.

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons of dried Shikakai Powder
  • 2 glasses of water.

Processing time: 10 minutes

Method Of Preparation & Application

  • Combine the ingredients in a jug and then remove it to be used as a shampoo.
  • Rinse your hair with normal water and then pour half the shikakai solution through your hair.
  • Massage your hair for 5 minutes and then rinse with water.
  • Repeat with the rest shikakai shampoo. The solution will start to form a mild foam at this point.

Besides, you can make herbal tea with dry shikakai powder and use it as the last rinse of hair. You can also add shikakai powder to your hair oils.

6. Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha or Indian Winter Cherry is an amazing herb for hair growth. This is the most commonly used Ayurveda for autumn hair. Hormone cortisol causes hair loss and slows hair growth. Ashwagandha, when applied to the scalp, controls the levels of cortisol and hair loss curves. It also increases antioxidant activity and promotes scalp circulation. This is an excellent remedy for dandruff and stimulates the production of melanin, which is essential for hair growth.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons of dried Ashwagandha Powder
  • 3 tablespoons of dried Amla Powder
  • 6 L Water

Processing time: 30 minutes

Method Of Preparation & Application

  • Mix all the ingredients in a bowl until you get a thick paste . If the paste is too dense, add more water to dilute it.
  • Apply the mixture on the scalp and hair.
  • Let it sit for 30 minutes and then wash with shampoo.
  • Apply Three times a week.
  • Ashwagandha can also be eaten orally.

7. Brahmi

Brahmi helps to strengthen hair and stimulates hair growth. It provides food for the roots and helps the growth of the follicles. Regular use of Brahmi makes hair dense and shiny. It is also useful for reducing dandruff. Brahmi hair packs help reduce scalp itching. If applied regularly, it removes split ends. It puts a protective cover, which, in turn, makes the hair shiny and dense.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of dried Brahmi Powder
  • 2 tablespoons of dried Amla Powder
  • 2 tablespoons of dried Ashwagandha Powder
  • ½ cup of yogurt

Processing time: One hour

Method Of Preparation & Application

  • Combine all the ingredients in the bowl until a smooth, homogeneous mixture is obtained.
  • Spread your hair and start applying the mixture from the roots to the tips of your hair.
  • After all of your hair is covered, leave the mixture for 1 hour.
  • Wash with lukewarm water and shampoo.
  • Apply Three times a week.

Another way to use Brahmi is to boil some water and add the leaves of Brahmi, Tulsi and Nim. After 10 minutes of boiling, turn off the hob and allow the solution to stay overnight. Straighten this water in the morning and use it to rinse hair after washing with shampoo.

8. Aromatic Jatamansi

A common name for this herb in Ayurvedic hair growth medicines is Muskroot or Indian Nard. Jatamansi helps cleanse the blood and improve its circulation. Enhanced nourishment of the skin of your head can help increase hair growth.

Ingredients

  • 5-6 drops of Jatamansi essential oil
  • With 2 to 3 tablespoons of Petroleum

Processing time: 45 minutes

Method Of Preparation & Application

  • Combine the oils to create a jatamansi oil mixture.
  • Spread your hair and start massaging with the oily mixture in your scalp for 15 minutes.
  • Apply the oil of the hair from the roots to the tops and then leave it for another 30 minutes.
  • Wash with shampoo and lukewarm water.
  • Apply Three times a week.

For better results, you can consume jatamansi in the form of a capsule.

9. Methi (Fenugreek)fenugreek-seeds-diabetes

Methi is a frequently used herb in most households; this is an excellent healer for hair. It is also one of the best remedies for dandruff and is known for its ability to stimulate the health of the scalp.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Methi
  • 3 tablespoons of water

Processing time: 20 minutes

Method Of Preparation & Application

  • Bake methi in a pan and then grind to get a fine powder.
  • Collect powder into a bowl and add water to form a thick paste.
  • Apply this scalp and hair paste and leave it for 20 minutes.
  • Wash with lukewarm water and shampoo.
  • Apply Twice a week.

10. Aloe VeraAloe_vera_gel

Aloe Vera has proven used in Ayurveda as it helps keep your system clean inside. It is also an excellent ingredient for stimulating scalp health, limiting hair, and promoting hair growth.

Ingredients

  • Half a glass of pure aloe vera gel
  • 3 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons of honey

Processing Time: 30 minutes

Method Of Preparation & Application

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl to obtain a homogeneous mixture.
  • Apply this on the scalp and hair and sit for 30 minutes.
  • Wash with lukewarm water and shampoo.
  • Apply 1 – 2 times a week.

11. Hot massage oil with Ayurvedic oilsolive-oil

A hot massage oil is used either coconut, bhringraj, Amla, arnica, sesame, almond or Brahmi oil helps improve blood circulation, rejuvenates hair follicles, resulting in better blood circulation to the roots. You can expect increased volume and duration within a 6 month period.

Ingredients
3 tablespoons of Ayurvedic oil (oil or mixture of oils as mentioned above).

Processing time: 45 minutes

Method Of Preparation & Application

  • Heat the oil mixture / oil until it is a little warmer.
  • Spread your hair and start massaging with the oily mixture in your scalp for 15 minutes.
  • Apply the oil of the hair from the roots to the tops and then leave it for another 30 minutes.
  • Wash with shampoo and lukewarm water.
  • Apply Three times a week.

Additional Tips for Hair Growth

  1. Avoid washing the hair when it is wet. Moist hair is vulnerable and susceptible to fracture.
  2. Lack of sleep is common, making a factor that causes hair loss. Take at least 8 hours of sleep each night.
  3. Drinking large amounts of water and a healthy diet is essential for the proper functioning of the body. What puts you in your body is just as important as what you put on your hair.
  4. Avoid unnecessary indulgence in alcohol, cigarettes, and other anesthetics.
  5. A licorice paste and milk or pepper and lemon seeds can be applied to hairless areas to stimulate hair growth.
  6. Consume raw vegetables and salads on a regular basis.
  7. Cope with stress and insomnia effectively with yoga and exercise.
  8. Coping with a hair is difficult. But with these procedures and tips comfortable, you can restore your hair to his previous glory in no time.
