7 Health Tips To Keep Your Bladder Healthy

One of the most significant aspect of our life is to maintain our health, although the vast majority of people forget to take care of it, either because of the pace of life they lead or because they do not give it the importance it deserves. In other cases, there are those who try to feed themselves properly and eat a diet that allows them to keep their organism healthy.

It is a challenge that we must propose since it is a basic aspect that we can carry out by taking the right decisions and putting a little effort. All our organs are important and necessary, and one of them is the bladder, an organ that is not taken much into account. And many of us ask ourselves, what is this organ for?

We must keep our bladder healthy since it is responsible for receiving urine from the ureters and expelling it to the outside of the body through the urethra. Its main function is to act as a storage bag for urine that is produced in turn by the kidneys. The bladder being a muscular and membranous organ is part of the mammalian urinary system.

This small bag is composed of three layers: the serous layer, the muscular layer and the mucous layer. The physiological capacity of a typical kidney is composed of 300 and 350 cubic centimeters.The capacity increases to about 3 liters when there is urinary retention when you suffer from cystitis or in the worst case bladder cancer; which is currently more common in men than in women since the health of this organ is directly linked to the health of the prostate.

The organ is very delicate and we must keep it healthy, therefore, we will talk about how we can keep our bladder healthy. In order to avoid common diseases that occur in the body and affect our bladders such as cystitis which is a temporary inflammation that produces fever, severe pain and weakness.

1. BE CAREFUL WITH ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

As we all know the main advice to keep our bladder healthy is to have a good diet, since the consumption of certain foods causes negative and serious effects on our bladder such as injuries that arise for example due to chronic alcoholism.

2. AVOID TOBACCO AND COFFEE IN EXCESS

Tobacco and coffee are a determining factor that affects our bladder, because they have chemical components that affect the organ, for that reason, it is important to avoid and control the intake of alcoholic beverages and coffee. Nothing in excess, probably if we do not avoid these vices in the future we can suffer from peritonitis.

3. TAKE 6 TO 8 GLASSES OF WATER PER DAY

An excellent ally to maintain a healthy bladder is the consumption of water, as this cleans the area and stays hydrated, the intake of liquid is essential you have to try to ingest between 1.2 and 2 liters per day in 6 or 8 glasses of water. day.

Ingesting water regularly prevents constipation from causing irritation of the bladder. Do not exaggerate with the consumption of water, as it can cause incontinence.

4. DO NOT DELAY GOING TO THE BATHROOM

We must get rid of the urge to go to the bathroom, this is one of the main causes of cystitis and infection. So we must go immediately whenever we have the need, we must discharge our bladder because retention can lead to dangerous urinary tract infections.

5. AVOID PROCESSED SWEETS

Avoid the consumption of artificial sweeteners, which through studies carried out have been found to irritate the bladder. Artificial sweeteners are found in diet sodas and some diet foods.

6. AVOID CITRUS FRUITS IN EXCESS

Foods and fruits that are citrus should be consumed in moderation, these irritate the bladder, some of these foods are: orange (Orange may also be good in case of cystitis, but there are cases in which it does not work well), lemon, tomato, pineapple, sour grapes. These are some of the fruits that in excess bother this organ. Let’s keep in mind to control consumption, sporadically and with a lot of regulation would be ideal.

7. PERFORM SOME PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Finally, we must include daily activities, carrying out exercises to avoid the retention of liquids that accumulate in the lower part of our body. When walking and exercise these liquids are diluted and so our bladder is not affected.
