Acne (vulgaris) is a skin problem that occurs due to pores of skin getting clogged with dead skin cells and oil from the skin. It can also occur due to hormonal changes. As per Ayurveda eating too much pitta (heat producing foods) like Fish, Meat, Eggs you can get acne , so do avoid these if getting this problem.
1. Aloe Vera Gel
Alove Vera is best natural medicine for every kind of skin problem. You can use the gel or juice of aloe vera to fight infection and promote healing. Just apply the ointment on pimples and wounds.
2. Apple Cider Vinegar/Lemon juice
Clean the skin and apply or apple cider vinegar with a cotton ball. The acid from these natural foods helps to clean the pores and gives the skin a great look. Vinegar acts as an astringent and helps to eliminate excess fat, bacteria and normalizes the pH level of the skin.
3. Carrot Juice
The essential oils contained in carrot juice will aid digestion and will stop acne. Make a natural carrot juice whenever you can. Carrots have Vitamin A in the form of beta-carotene, which is very helpful in removing acne.
4. Cucumber
Blend a peeled cucumber in the blender and apply the juice over the acne. Another variation of this remedy is to drink 4-5 glasses of cucumber juice a day for a week. It is said to purify the blood and lymphatic system, giving rise to a good complexion.
5. Grapefruit Seed Extract
Grapefruit Seeds have antimicrobial properties and are an excellent disinfectant. Prepare a solution of 4-40 drops in 118ml of water (1/2 cup) and apply to the affected areas with a cotton two or three times a day.
6. Lemon juice
Lemon is very effective in opening the pores of the skin which helps in eradicating acne. Just apply freshly squeezed lemon juice over the affected area with a cotton pad.Wash the area in the morning.
7. Neem Oil
The neem (Azadirachta indica) is highly valued in Ayurvedic medicine for its healing properties: antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral. For acne, apply a cream of neem oil (2%) on the affected area. Use is after mixing it with olive oil or other oils.
8. Oats
Oatmeal is an astringent and seems to cleanse the fat and impurities of the skin, maintaining a good complexion, without blemishes. Apply cold oats all over the face for 15 minutes, then rinse. This method may take one to two weeks to take effect, but it should work.
9. Tea Tree Oil
The Tea Tree Oil contains antibacterial compounds that constitute a very effective disinfectant for the skin. Depending on the intensity of the acne, use solutions of 5-15% twice a day.
10. Basil Leaves
For persistent acne use basil oil as an effective remedy. Put 2-3 teaspoons of dried basil leaves in a cup with boiling water and let stand for 20 minutes; let cool. Apply with cotton on the affected area.
11.Drinking Lots for Water
Sometimes we have the habit of drinking too little water which isn’t enough for your bodily needs. For acne drinking lots of water helps a lot in purifying blood and removing toxins from the body. Water is essential element that helps in maintaining the skin health.
