Aphtha, also known as canker sores or mouth ulcers are a very common problem, which can occur sporadically or repeatedly, within a few days. In the latter case, it is important to determine the cause that causes it, which can range from a nutritional deficiency (especially vitamin B or iron) to a food intolerance, which may refer to difficulties in the gastrointestinal tract. But also be attributed to a period of stress.
To cure these ulcers on mouth or toungue, you can use natural, simple and effective remedies:
1. Melaleuca Oil
This super versatile essential oil is also very useful in case of canker sores. It can be applied in two different ways, making a generic mouthwash with half a glass of water and 3 or 4 drops of the oil, or, put directly on the specific spot with a cotton swab two drops of the essential oil.
2. Baking Soda
You can do exactly the same procedure above using baking soda which has disinfectant and anti-inflammatory actions. Just dissolve a teaspoon into a glass of water, to make mouthwash.
3. Black or Green Tea Bags
Soak in lukewarm water, the tea bag black or green, and then apply it to the sore. It would be particularly the tannin present in the teas that have astringent and antiseptic properties to cure the problem.
4. Infusion of sage, mauve, and lemon
Sage and mauve are two plants indicated for canker sores because of their calming and anti-inflammatory actions. You can prepare an infusion with a tablespoon of sage and mauve leaves by leaving them for ten minutes in boiling water and then filtering everything. Let cool, add the juice of a lemon. Make mouthwash several times a day.
